A "Hall of Shame" to expose cars parked illegally
in disability or mobility parking spaces.
There have been a couple people who commented that they thought all photos of vehicles on Caughtya should be taken from the front. They argue that the photos should clearly show the lack of parking permit in the photos, taken from the front. But photos taken from the front is not something we'll insist on. In fact, we can't.
First, a lot of the parking spaces are placed in such a way that the vehicles are parked right against a wall, one can't go in front of the car and take a photo. If they aren't in front of a wall, there might be garden or greenery. Someone who is ambulatory might be able to go in front of the car, but if you're in a wheelchair, might as well forget it.
Second, the concept of clearly showing there is no parking permit works fine if you are in an area of the world where you hang your parking permit from the rearview mirror. But if you simply put the permit on the dashboard, chances are even if there was a permit there, a photo would not show it. Particularly if you are taking the photo from a seated position. You can get close to the car, and look inside to verify there is, or is not, a permit displayed, but it would not show in a photo.
This is indeed an issue we had considered, our decision was not made without thinking about it first. We hope you'll understand and accept our reasoning.

The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

I may not buy more in one go, but I guarantee you I spend as much, if not more, than the average punter does in a week.

No, I do not understand your reasoning at all. A a former judge, it is my reasonign that before you publ;ish the "wrong doer" , the "discoveror" shoudl use the same due diligence as a law enforcment officer must use before citing the vehilce. Definetly ascertain that the vehicle does not have permanent or temporary hindicapped permission to park in the handicapped spot. After all, it is an infraction ONLY if it is citable under legal standards; not a "guess".
for a judge you sure can't spell
It is up to the person taking the photograph to ascertain whether or not the appropriate permit for their jurisdiction is being displayed.
Each country and even parts of some have their own regulations as to how the permit is to be displayed (though to our knowledge it is always required to be displayed in a prominent place).
Here in the United States, you can still get a ticket if it is laying on the dash or seat.It has to be hanging from the mirror or an emblem on the tag..
