Gold Band Taxi Co. Fleet number 138. This cab driver was delivering an able bodied person to a shopping centre. After the passenger alighted, the cab occupied the space for approx 5 minutes whilst the female driver filled in her paperwork.

The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

I may not buy more in one go, but I guarantee you I spend as much, if not more, than the average punter does in a week.

All taxi drivers must respect the road rules/parking rules whilst carrying out their job. At Gold Band Taxis we conduct additional training and testing above the criteria set out under the land transport act to
look to minimise situations such as you have identified. However it is timely to update all our drivers on such matters when we become aware of them, as in this case.
As Christchurch's longest serving taxi company (over 80 years), we are very aware of the need to provide the best possible customer service and to continually improve the way we operate to meet the needs of
our growing customer base. We also appreciate that this applies not only for the customer we are serving at the time, but the customer we maybe serving tomorrow. "
